In 2023, Football School Canada Blanch had the incredible opportunity to take part in one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments in the world — the MIC (Mediterranean International Cup) in Costa Brava, Spain. The experience was nothing short of unforgettable.
A Global Stage
The MIC is known for hosting top-level youth talent from all over the world, and this year was no exception. Teams from elite academies such as Manchester United, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain were in attendance. Being part of this world-class competition gave our players a taste of international football at the highest level.
Facing the Best
One of the highlights of our tournament run was getting the chance to compete against Manchester United’s youth squad — a surreal and inspiring moment for our players. Going up against such established teams tested our skills, resilience, and teamwork. Every match was a learning experience, and our players stepped up to the challenge with pride and determination.
Growth Through Experience
Beyond the pitch, the MIC tournament offered an invaluable cultural and developmental experience. Our players bonded with teammates, made connections with players from different countries, and gained a deeper understanding of what it takes to compete at an elite level. From high-pressure matches to moments of team spirit and unity, MIC 2023 was a milestone in their football journey.
Representing the UK
Representing UK on an international stage was an honour. We are proud of how our team competed, carried themselves, and grew both as athletes and individuals. This experience is a stepping stone toward our mission of developing world-class footballers right here in London.
